At Vocca, we take your privacy seriously. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your personal information when you use our expense tracking application.

Information We Collect

Information You Provide

  • Account Information: Email address, name, and password when you create an account
  • Financial Data: Expense records, categories, budgets, and savings goals you enter
  • Profile Information: Monthly income, recurring expenses, and preferences

Automatically Collected Information

  • Device Information: Device type, operating system, and app version
  • Usage Data: Features used, app interactions, and crash reports
  • Analytics: Aggregated, anonymized usage statistics

How We Use Your Information

We use your information to:

  • Sync your data across devices (if you enable cloud sync)

Data Storage and Security

Local Storage

By default, all your financial data is stored locally on your device. We cannot access this data unless you explicitly enable cloud sync.

Cloud Sync (Optional)

If you enable cloud sync:

  • Data is encrypted in transit using TLS/SSL
  • Data is stored securely on Supabase infrastructure
  • You can disable sync and delete cloud data at any time
  • We implement industry-standard security measures

Data Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties except:

  • Service Providers: Trusted partners who help us operate the app (e.g., Supabase for cloud storage)
  • Legal Requirements: When required by law or to protect our rights
  • With Your Consent: When you explicitly authorize sharing

AI-Powered Categorization

When you use the AI expense input feature, the transaction or description text you enter is sent to Google (via the Gemini API) solely to suggest a category and amount. We do not include your email, user ID, or any other personal identifiers in these requests. You can avoid this by entering expenses manually instead of using the AI feature. The AI suggestion is never saved until you confirm it.

Data Retention

We retain your data only while your account is active. If you delete your account (via the App's Profile / Account settings), we permanently delete your account, email, and all associated data (expenses, budgets, goals, debts, etc.) from our systems. We do not retain copies after deletion. Aggregated, anonymized analytics that cannot identify you may be retained for a limited time for service improvement.

Your Rights

You have the right to:

  • Access: Request a copy of your data
  • Correction: Update or correct your information
  • Deletion: Delete your account and all associated data
  • Export: Download your data in a portable format
  • Opt-out: Disable analytics and optional features

Children's Privacy

Vocca is not intended for children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have collected information from a child under 13, please contact us immediately.

International Users

Vocca is available worldwide. If you use our app from outside the United States, your information may be transferred to and processed in the United States or other countries where our service providers operate.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes through the app or via email. Continued use of Vocca after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
